How do I find the nearest Coinstar Centre® machine?
It’s easy. Just use the Coinstar Centre® machine locator in the upper right corner of your screen to search by Postal Code.
Is there a charge to use the Coinstar Centre machine?
Yes. There is a 11.9% processing fee in Canada. Some retailers or financial institutions may choose to subsidize this fee.
Do I need to sort my coins before using the Coinstar Centre machine?
No. Coinstar accepts any quantity of unsorted coins in your local currency. Coinstar's patented technology allows our processors to filter out foreign coins and other debris. However, these items may not be returned by our processors so it is a good idea to remove foreign, damaged or sticky coins; pure silver coinage and other debris from your stored coins.
Do I have to redeem the cash voucher at the store where I cash in my coins?
Yes. Because Coinstar reimburses each store for the transactions that are processed through the Coinstar Center at their location, we instruct our store partners not to cash vouchers processed at a different location.
Does the Coinstar cash voucher need to be redeemed for cash right away (the day of the transaction)?
Some retail locations require vouchers to be redeemed the same day or within a certain timeframe. Please check with the store before leaving with an un-cashed voucher.
What if I have a large amount of coins?
If you are an individual and think that you have more than $3,000 in coins, we may be able to provide special assistance. Please call our Customer Service department at 1-800-928-CASH.
